Brows that read as your own

Nano Brows are a form of cosmetic tattoo that places fine, hair-like strokes of pigment into the upper layers of the skin using an ultra-fine, single needle. The result is definition and shape that looks effortless — never harsh, blocky or “drawn on.”

The aim isn’t to give everyone the same brow. It’s to enhance the brows you already have, or gently rebuild what time, over-plucking or hair loss has taken away, so the finished look still reads as you — just tidier, more even and easier to live with.

At ELKA Clinic in Subiaco, we take a deliberately conservative, precision-led approach. We would rather build a soft, believable brow you love for years than an overly dark one you regret within weeks.

When Nano Brows may not be right

Being honest about suitability is part of a safe, professional service. Nano Brows are generally not recommended if you:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have active skin conditions in the brow area (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis)
• Are prone to keloid scarring
• Have certain medical conditions or take blood thinners — please check with your GP
• Have very oily skin with large pores, where strokes can blur (technique and expectations matter)
• Want a bold, solid, made-up brow, better achieved with ombré or powder techniques

If Nano Brows aren’t ideal for you, we’ll say so and suggest a better-suited option. A complimentary consultation is the easiest way to confirm suitability.

Nano Brows for oily skin

Oily and combination skin can be more challenging for any hair-stroke tattoo, because excess oil can soften crisp strokes over time. This is exactly where technique and honest expectations matter.

For oilier skin we adapt stroke placement and density, and talk you through realistic longevity and whether a slightly softer, blended finish (or a powder/ombré effect) may hold better for you. What we won’t do is promise razor-sharp strokes that won’t last. Your consultation is the best place to assess your skin honestly.

If you’ve had cosmetic tattooing before

Working over previous brow tattooing is more complex than a fresh canvas. Old pigment can sit unevenly, change colour as it fades, or be too dark or too large to simply cover.

If you have existing work, please send clear, well-lit photos before booking, or come in for a consultation. In some cases we can work over faded, well-placed previous work; in others, a degree of fading or removal may be needed first for the best result. We’ll give you an honest assessment rather than tattooing over something that won’t heal well.

Nano Brows aftercare

Good aftercare protects your investment. During the healing period:

• Keep the area clean and dry as advised; blot gently, don’t rub.
• Don’t pick or scratch flaking skin — let it shed on its own.
• Avoid heavy sweating, swimming, saunas and steam for the recommended period.
• Keep brows out of direct sun; use SPF on healed brows to protect colour.
• Avoid makeup, exfoliants and active skincare (retinol, acids) on the brows while healing.
• Apply any provided aftercare product sparingly and exactly as directed.

Risks & safety

Cosmetic tattooing is a skin treatment and, as with any such procedure, carries some risks — including redness, swelling, minor scabbing, uneven healing, colour changes, or (rarely) infection or allergic reaction. Choosing a qualified, hygienic, experienced technician dramatically reduces these risks.

At ELKA Clinic we follow strict hygiene and single-use practices, work within our scope, and are transparent about what pigment can and can’t do. We don’t over-promise, and we’d always rather under-do and build up than go too dark or too bold.
